The world has lost one of the best human beings. I have so many great memories with Roger....too many to count! Almost every single one ended in uncontrollable laughter.
My favorite has to be the time he and David made up a ridiculous story about how I helped a distressed woman find food and medical treatment for her sick Yak....that’s correct, a Yak (Portuguese, Long-haired). This fabrication, went for days, and grew in details. One day, Roger decided to pen a letter (unknown to me) to our bosses at Rural-Metro, nominating me for Employee of the Month for my heroic Yak save!!. Not long after, David and I were dispatched from the field to the AOC....being led to believe that I was in some serious trouble (looking at you Robbie C.) Upon arrival, I was informed by the bosses that I was awarded Employee of the Month....for saving a Yak!! This all done secretly by my good friend, and King of Pranks...Roger!
Roger always knew how to bring a smile. How to make a stressful job so much more enjoyable. He was a great Paramedic and a true friend to everyone. I am so blessed to have known him, and my heart is full. We are sad, but the Angels in Heaven are gonna be rolling on the floor with laughter!! Rest In Peace my Brother. #YakTeam7 #SignOn
