Obituary of James E. Gilmore

Mr. James E. Gilmore, age 74 of Pinson, Alabama, formerly of Harriman, passed away March 31, 2010 after a long illness. He was a member of North Clay Baptist Church in Alabama. He loved bass fishing, especially on Watts Bar Lake before his illness. James was an avid Tennessee football fan and he loved the Lady Vols. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. James loved his family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his son: Mark Allen Gilmore. His parents: Sam and Eula Roberts Gilmore. His father and mother-in-law: Tom and Maude Brewster. And two brothers-in-law: Arthur Hurd and Melvin Brewster. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Barbara Brewster Gilmore. One daughter: Karen Leigh Gilmore Hamrick and her husband Paul of Raleigh, NC. One grandson: Tyler Mark Gilmore. And one daughter-in-law: Marty Gilmore both of Rockwood. One sister: Barbara Gilmore Hurd. And one nephew: Jeff Hurd both of Ellijay, GA. A sister-in-law: Margaret Greene and brother-in-law: Tom Brewster, Jr both of Rockwood. The family will receive friends Saturday April 3, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Rev. David Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard.
