Obituary of Virgie Juanita Hamby Honeycutt

Mrs. Virgie J. Honeycutt, age 86 of Harriman went home to be with the Lord Wednesday January 21, 2015 at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was retired from American Yarn Craft where she worked many years as a spinner. After retirement she didn’t stop there. She continued to work cleaning houses for people daily and also sat with people who needed someone to sit with them. Virgie was a life-long member of Lone Mountain Baptist Church. She loved the Lord dearly and depended on him and thanked him many times daily for all he done for her. She will be missed dearly by her family. <p> She was preceded in death by her parents: Elbert & Mary Hamby. Five brothers: Lonis, Ray, Hubert, Tim and Rob Hamby. And one sister: Mattie Mason. <p> She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: John “Bo” Honeycutt. Her daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Robert Billingsly of Harriman. Her granddaughter: Chantel and husband James Perkins of Rockwood. And three great granddaughters: Layla, Kayla and Jessie Perkins. Two brothers: Bill Hamby of Dutch Valley and Ulyous Hamby of Robbins. And two sisters: Della Coley of Harriman, Hattie Hamby of Wartburg and Mable Griffith of Mountain View. And several nieces and nephews and a special friend: Paul Griffith whom she loved dearly as her own son. <p> The family will receive friends Saturday January 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday January 25, 2015 at Lone Mountain Missionary Baptist church with Bro. Jimmy Griffith and Bro. Kermit Phillips officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. <p> Davis Funeral Home, Harriman is in charge of arrangements. <p>
