Obituary of Edward Wade James Sr.

Mr. Edward W. James Sr., age 86, of Harriman, passed away Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Roane Medical Center. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He was a member of the Lee Village Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Betty Jean James

One daughter: Karen James Rayder

Parents: Charlie and Florence Jackson James

Two sisters: Emily Mae James and Alice Faye Burns

Two brothers: Jackie and J.W. James

Two brothers in law: Lenoy Orman and Billy Price

And one sister in law: Gwen James

He is survived by his son: Eddie and his wife Nietta James

Two brothers: Benny and Charlie James Jr.

Three sisters: Arlene Hopkins (Jimmy Dale), Helen Orman and Iris Hopkins (Dewey)

One brother in law: Jerry Price (Sandy)

Two sisters in law: Sue Turner (Phil) and Norma Price

Three grandchildren: Chris James (Morgan) of Harriman, Dustin James (Wes) of Houston, TX and Candy Qualls of Wartburg

Four great grandchildren

Two great great grandchildren

And a host of nephews, nieces, family, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Saturday August 4, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. The funeral service will be immediately following the visitation at 7:00 PM with Pastor Matt Cannon and Pastor David Tapp officiating. The graveside service will be held on Sunday August 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg.
